II Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

The Fallacy of Theistic Evolution

Answers In Genesis

Creation Ministries International Store Canada

Firstly no one that is an athiest is 100% sure that there is no God. This athiest would have to know everything about everything to be 100% sure that God does not exist. Theistic evolution is an oxymoron. Evolution wether cosmological or biological and creation by the Christian God are two diametrically opposed beliefs. You can not reconcile evolution with the creation account in the Bible. The order of events are different. The evolutionary genesis of the Sun is before the evolution of the Earth in a big bang cosmology. The Bible clearly states that the Earth(day 1:Genesis 1:1-5) and plants(day 3:Genesis 1:11-13) were created before the Sun(day 4:Genesis 1:14-19).

Now if you believe that the days were long ages here the earth and plants would then be created long ages before the sun. Do you think the plants could have survived for long ages without the Sun? If you believe that Genesis in the Bible is allegory(ie. not true), then you basically are saying that God's Word in Genesis is a lie. You are saying what Lucifer first said in the Bible to Eve. "Yea, hath God said...?". Did God really say what he said in Genesis? This idea that Genesis is not true is a subtil lie from the Devil. If you go down that road you undermine the authority of scripture. As a Christian witness why would someone believe that the Bible is true anywhere else if you tell them that Genesis is a lie? You are shooting yourself in the foot. Genesis is foundational to the Gospel message. Without Genesis the Gospel is meaningless. There then is no fall of mankind into sin because we were always in the state we are in now. We have nothing to be saved from.

Would God use millions of years of death and struggle and disease to create something and then turn around and call it good? Would he say that creation was finished(Genesis 2:1-2) and then keep creating new things using evolution? Jesus himself who is God referred to mankind being created at the beginning(Mathew 19:4, Mark 10:6) not millions of years after the beginning. Was Jesus wrong about this? Do you think he was that stupid to make a mistake like that? Think about it. An all-knowing God making a mistake about when people were created. I don't think so. If he is wrong here he is not worth worshiping.
